Barbarian Call

It’s hard to image that when Jesus called men, women and children to follow Him that through the years the picture of what that looked like would somehow become something very different.

What is this barbarian call, what’s at the centre?

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" Here’s the Barbarian call "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
The call is not complicated it’s this; do you love God? Do you love me more than these? The disciple around him? The fish, the fishing?


Do you love me more than these?
Maybe Jesus was saying will you love me so intensely that you will never retreat.
What’s your struggle today what do you love more, what stuff, dream, image?

What about him. Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?") 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?" 22 Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?"


Follow Me! You follow me, this is personal. It’s your deal.

The call is to Risk. You’ll be tempted to go back but if you stay the course you won’t regret a single moment. Will you choose the path of risk, uncertainty and mystery?
