The Jesus Way

Before we moved to Dungannon we lived in a small village called Tobermore. It’s small and believe it or not there are people who live there that never travelled to Belfast (45 min drive); ever. Now you may knock Tobermore people but they are just like Jesus in that Jesus never travelled more than 30 miles from His hometown during His adult ministry. We forget that the world was stationary and not all that long ago. People lived in the same town all their life, worked there or close to it, married a girl from the town, you get the picture. But we now live in a world and a time of great opportunity, we have a microcosm of Europe here in our town. The masses are placed for a God harvest, opportunity for the message of the Kingdom to be demonstrated is within reach.

Not only are the masses gathered but people have a huge hunger for God the spiritual temperature is red hot.

Man [sic] is one of your creatures, Lord, and his instinct is to praise you. He bears about him the mark of death…But still, since he is a part of your creation, he wishes to praise you. The thought of you stirs him so deeply that he cannot be content unless he praises you, because you made us for yourself and our hearts find no peace until they rest in you. Augustine

The call of the follower of Christ is to be discerning. Not just of evil and the devil but of good and God. many of us followers of Christ need to repent, to change our way of thinking, you see all around us people have no peace; all around us people are seeking and knocking to find a way, to know reality and take hold of a life that is truly life.

Jesus makes this a whopper of a statement in the book of John. "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." Jn 14: 6-7

Sad thing is we have reduced this 'Way of Jesus' as a route to heaven which it is but it's also bring heaven to earth, bring the reality of the Kingdom to those who's hearts find no rest.

"All the way to heaven is heaven, because He said, I am the way'". St Catherine

People are looking for God all through out our community, longing for the way, so their hearts can rest. People in your work, your street are ready to embrace the Kingdom reality. Jesus is the way the reality and the life. We need to discern good and God and keep following 'The Way'
