Creating the future

They say the best way to predict the future is to begin to create it, I like that and there is an old Japanese proverb that would sit well with this; 'vision without action is a nightmare'. Last Sunday we paused our Kingdom series to begin a conversation called 'creating the future. I know it's probably not the done thing to kick off vision talks mid Oct but that's the problem sometimes with God. He often sets His agenda for us to follow, so I'm opting we do that; it just makes for a better journey.

To kick it off we started with our kids, who represent our present and our future. We are on a mission that we might not see in its totality in my generation's time, so it's imperative that we leave a legacy and invest in our kids. I'm not that interested in just having good kids around the vineyard. I want to see kids that are filled with the Spirit of God, hearing the voice of God and influencing everyone around them.

1 Sam 12:1 - 2

Samuel said to all Israel, "I have listened to everything you said to me and have set a king over you. 2 Now you have a king as your leader. As for me, I am old and grey, and my sons are here with you. I have been your leader from my youth until this day.

The best legacy we can leave is the mission of Jesus Christ and the message of Christ. So if you're part of the Vineyard family, pick up an oar and row with us by volunteering to serve the kids and the youth. If you're not already doing so, consider systematic percentage giving and pray like there's no tomorrow.

Louder, Louder!
